We’re trading our paws for fins, our fur for scales, our bones for whatever those flakes are that Jimmy Jr. sprinkles into our bowl each day. Hounder, the award-winning design and development company who has worked so hard to ensure their brand pleases dogs everywhere, has decided to dive headfirst into whatever living body of water is closest and embrace our scaled-up new future. Dogs are old news; we’re fish people now.
Flounder CEO says, “Give code to cod!”
Basically, what happened was that the ex-CEO of Hounder / current CEO of Flounder went on his first fishing trip ever, and soon had an epiphany. He was minding his own business, breathing the fresh bay air, when he caught a fish who told him five really good reasons fish make better tech partners than dogs.
5 reasons fish have a fin in the tech industry:
1. Water quality monitoring: Fish need to keep track of the quality of the water they inhabit, and to alert humans of any changes that may be harmful to their health and well-being.
2. Aquatic technology: Fish are only ever scared, hungry, or both. To improve quality of life, some fish species could benefit from advanced aquatic technologies that enable them to detect and evade predators more effectively, or to find food more easily.
3. Underwater drones and ArcGIS technology: Fish need better infrastructure, and may be intrigued by the potential use of underwater drones that could help them explore and map their aquatic inhabitants.
4. Fish farming: For the right price and political incentive, fish can help humans in the development of new technologies that could help improve the sustainability and efficiency of fish farming practices. Humans need more food and fish can always use more friends.
5. Virtual reality and other digital platforms: A big secret - fish love digital platforms. Fish may be curious about the possibility of experiencing life outside of their underwater world through the use of virtual reality technology, or even interacting with humans through a virtual platform.
“I used to just swim around and eat sea moss with my friends. But now, thanks to Flounder, I’m leveraging every aspect of core aquatic experiences by implementing fish-driven digital systems. We’re eliminating data silos for more integrated workflows as fish!”

Scaling with Flounder FinTech
Rest assured, we promise this rebrand won’t affect the quality of our digital products. However, in the interest of staying on brand, we’re going to be making a splash in the FinTech space.
From now on, every Flounder product you interact with will have a FinTech plugin dedicated to funding and improving the financial crisis that has plagued aquatic spaces for a while now. Our engineers are still working on it, but these will probably include:
Water quality monitoring plugins
Aquatic food delivery plugins
Fish identification plugins
Financial analytics plugins for fish farming

Swimming in success: Fish are a better brand choice for tech, okay?
Aside from the practice execution and technical innovations discussed above, fish are a much more success-driven brand choice.
Fish are a powerful symbol for a tech company that wants to project a smart and innovative image. Fish are often seen as symbols of growth and transformation, which can be beneficial for a tech company that is looking to expand its reach and develop new products or services. Finally, fish are often associated with precision and accuracy—essential qualities for tech companies that rely on data and analytics to drive their business.
By incorporating fish into branding and marketing materials, a tech company can tap into these positive associations and create a memorable and effective brand identity.
