From Coffee to Coding on the Coast
Hello, my name is Austin Amento. After spending 12 years in the coffee industry it was time to make a shift. I always had a thing with computers since I was very young and knew I would get back to them eventually. Now I am a Full Stack Web Developer who specializes in HTML, CSS, Javascript and React.
I currently live just outside of Bellingham, WA, with my family. My family consists of my lovely wife Christina, with our two young daughters Amelia, and Eliza. We also have three dogs Duke, Benji, and Cooper, as well as two cats Coco, and Gray.
Q&A:
Favorite action figure growing up?
Any G.I.JOE or Star Wars characters. Lots of memories with T’Jbang battling some storm troopers or Cobra Commander.
What would you name your boat if you had one?
The Library, so when I go fishing I can say I'm at the library.
What fictional place would you like to visit?
Kashyyyk or pretty much any planet from the Star Wars universe.
Coffee or tea? Milk in first or last?
Coffee all morning, no milk. Then usually a nice green or white tea in the afternoon.
What's the most useless talent you have?
I am an award-winning barista and coffee taster haha.
What is the dumbest way you’ve been injured?
Just this past fall I was hiking and too lazy to go around the river to the bridge, so I crossed very slippery rocks and dislocated my pinky. Had to pop it back into place before driving down the mountain.
What book or movie have you recently read/seen and why would you recommend it?
Finally got around to reading Jurassic Park and The Lost World and the books are so so so good.
Gas station food or school cafeteria?
School cafeteria for sure!
